Setting up your first pixel

Create and configure your first tracking pixel with custom triggers.

Setting Up Your First Pixel

Pixels are tracking codes that send data to advertising platforms. Here's how to create your first one.

Creating a Pixel

Step 1: Choose Your Platform

1. Go to "Pixels" in your dashboard

2. Click "Add Pixel"

3. Select your platform (Facebook, Google Ads, TikTok, etc.)

4. Enter your Pixel ID or Conversion ID

Step 2: Configure Triggers

Triggers determine when your pixel fires:

  • **Page View**: Fires on every page load
  • **Scroll Depth**: Fires when user scrolls X% of the page
  • **Time on Page**: Fires after user spends X seconds on page
  • **Lead**: Fires when URL contains specific text (e.g., "thank-you")
  • **Purchase**: Fires on purchase confirmation pages

  • Step 3: Test Your Pixel

    1. Save your pixel configuration

    2. Visit your website

    3. Trigger the configured event

    4. Check PixelHub dashboard to verify it fired

    5. Verify in your advertising platform (Facebook Events Manager, etc.)

    Best Practices

  • **Start Simple**: Begin with Page View triggers
  • **Test Thoroughly**: Always test before going live
  • **Use Descriptive Names**: Name pixels clearly (e.g., "Facebook Retargeting")
  • **Document Your Setup**: Keep notes on what each pixel tracks

  • Common Platforms

  • **Facebook**: Requires Pixel ID (found in Events Manager)
  • **Google Ads**: Requires Conversion ID (AW-XXXXXXXXX)
  • **Google Analytics 4**: Requires Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXXXXX)
  • **TikTok**: Requires Pixel ID (found in TikTok Events Manager)
